Global Health Issues and WHO -- Malaria in India, AIDS in Africa, Tuberculosis in Southeast Asia
Number of pages:
20
ABSTRACT:
This 20 page report discusses these three specific international health crises and how they have required the World Health Organization to re-commit to its mandate of improving the health of all people. One of the WHO’s mandates is 'to act as the world's directing and coordinating authority' on questions of human health. Nowhere else in the world is this called into a greater level of concern than in the re-emergence of malaria in India, the epidemic of TB in Southeast Asia, or the devastation brought about by HIV/AIDS in Africa. Bibliography lists 20 sources.
